Clerkenwell Macs – Terms and Conditions

Our terms and conditions set out how we conduct business with our customers and what you can expect from us when you contract our services.

How we carry out our business with our customers

We offer top- quality Apple Mac services. Our speciality is MacBook liquid damage repairs, but our services also include other general MacBook repairs, iMac repair, MacBook/iMac exchanges/upgrades and the sale of refurbished MacBook/iMac products.

By contracting our services, you agree to be bound by our terms and conditions in their totality. If you have any queries or seek further explanation regarding any of our services, then we strongly advise you raise these with us before contracting any of our services.

Repair Services

We will not be held responsible for any loss of data/software arising from any of our services. If we are carrying out data recovery, we will only retain your data on our secure servers for up to ten working days – after that it will be deleted from our system.  If you provide us with a hard drive for data storage, we cannot be held liable for this. Also, we cannot guarantee that your data will be stored either in part or in full.  We also accept no responsibility for any other accessories you may send to us with your product including (but not limited to) cases, cables, or chargers.

We will contact as soon as possible if any complications occur during the repair process. A clear explanation will be given indicating any changes to the costs and timescales of your product’s repair prior to us continuing the repair process.

We cannot be held responsible for the amount of time it may take for us to complete your product’s repair. If we believe we are no longer able to complete your order within the initially given timeframe – such as for any events which are outside of our reasonable control (such as the unavailability of required components or short notice employee absenteeism), we will notify you of this as soon as practicably possible and will either agree a new timeframe for your order, or if requested we will cancel your order and return your product(s) to you and process you a full refund for the given order(s).

Our warranty for repairs is 12 months from the date the order is invoiced, this includes both parts and labour. We may use parts or components that are new or equivalent to new condition in terms of both durability, reliability, and performance. We will not be held liable for any faults related to previous repairs made to the product by another repair company.

If our provided service involves installing/updating software/firmware, then you authorise us to accept any software licenses and legal terms on your behalf.

We will not be held liable for indirect or consequential damages resulting from our provided services under any other legal theory. Including but not limited to loss of revenue, loss of actual or anticipate profits (including loss of profits on contracts), loss of the use of money, loss of anticipated savings, loss of business, loss of reputation, loss or corruption of data, or any costs of recovering any program/data stored or used with your product and any failure to maintain the confidentiality of data stored on your product.

Repaired products will not be returnable until payment has been made to Clerkenwell Macs in full. If you fail to collect your product within 12 months of being notified that it is ready for collection/payment, then we reserve the right to sell the item at market cost and recover the cost for any outstanding payments.

Exchanges

We will consider the purchase of any MacBook and iMac products that you would like to sell us. We request up to three working days to fully test the product(s) before deciding to purchase such product(s) from you. If we identify that the product has been stolen, then we reserve the right to recover any associated costs from you and to notify the police.

If we agree to make the purchase, then we will require proof of identity and bank details from you.  The payment will be made within 48 hours, but we cannot be held responsible for any delays outside of our control.

Refurbished Products

Our refurbished product come with a 12 month warranty from the date of purchase.

Delivery/Collection Services

In the event, that you choose to send a product to us to undergo our services, then the product remains your sole responsibility until we have received it.  We therefore strongly recommend using a secure delivery method.  We also request that you record the condition of the item prior to postage – for instance take photographs of the product(s) prior to dispatchment. We cannot be held responsible for any damage sustained to your product during in transit.

We will advise you in advance of any deliveries/collections made directly by a Clerkenwell Macs employee, these will only occur when agreed upon before contracting our services. It is assumed that the collection and delivery addresses will be the same unless otherwise agreed. Clerkenwell Macs hold the right to charge additional postage costs if a different delivery address is required after the repair has been completed.

Any postage made by us will be sent using a secure method such as a tracked service or courier. Should you be unavailable to accept the delivery then you must contact us in advance of the item being posted to you. Failure to receive a delivery may result in further costs in the event that a re-delivery is required.

Our Warranty

Our warranty for all our services is 12 months from the date of invoice/purchase.

If your product is still under Apple warranty or has existing AppleCare, then these will take precedence over the warranty offered by us.

The warranty is for the parts supplied by us only. If the part(s) has been replaced since or the fault is elsewhere on the product then your warranty with Clerkenwell Macs is thereby forfeit.

If any subsequent repairs are carried out under the terms of our warranty, then this does not extend the warranty period.

Our Warranty does not cover accidental or deliberate damage including but not limited to:

  • Liquid damage/spillages
  • Use of external force/physical damage
  • Use of the product in ways not specified by the manufacturer, including but not limited to using a non-OEM power supply such as non-Apple chargers, power banks, car chargers. These may cause damage to your product’s electrical components.
  • Software issues unrelated to the services provided by us and/or damage resulting from viruses or other malicious software

We reserve the right to charge you a diagnose fee if you make an invalid warranty claim.
